Valid Passport with tourist Visa is required
for all visitors. Tourists Visa is valid for 28 days and it is
easily available at Myanmar Embassies and Myanmar Consulate

Airport departure tax for international
flight is US $ 10 per person. But there is no departure tax for
International Credit Cards and Traveler’s
Currently credit cards and traveler’s cheque
cannot be used in Myanmar. So please make sure you bring enough
US Dollars in cash for your intended purchases and avoid
Yangon has direct air-links with Bangkok,
Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Guangzhou, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi,
Kolkata and Kumming.
Myanmar Airways International, Thai Airways International, Silk
Air, Bangkok Airways, Air Asia, Malaysia Airlines, Indian
Airlines, China Airlines, Air China and Air Bagan operate
scheduled flights in and out of Yangon.
Domestic Air Services
There are five domestic air lines ; Air Bagan
(W9), Air KBZ (KZ), Air Mandalay (6T), Asian Wings (AWM) and
Myanmar Airways (UB).
All carriers provide services on the most popular routes between
Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and Heho.
Myanmar Standard Time (MST) is six hours and
thirty minutes ahead of Greenwich Mean Time ( GMT ).
Climate & Weather
Myanmar is a sub-tropical country with a hot,
humid climate. The location and topography of the country create
Summer, Rainy Season and Winter. Summer is from mid-February to
mid-May with temperature up to 40 degree centigrade , Rainy
season, from mid-May to mid-October and then comes a third
season Winter, from mid-October to mid-February.
Entrance Fees are collected at the famous
Pagodas, Temples, Monasteries, Museums, Old Palace and
Archaeological Zones. Tickets are available at the entrance of
the respective places or sites.
What To Wear
Casual and light clothing is recommended but
not skimpy dress nor those that may offend reserved nature of
Myanmar. Sweater or Jacket may be needed if visiting hilly
regions, especially during Winter. If visiting Rainy Season, an
umbrella or raincoat will be required. Shoes and other footwear
must be removed before entering pagodas, temples, monasteries
and other religious buildings and homes.
Official language is Myanmar and English is
widely applied in the big cities.
Myanmar currency is the Kyat made of 100 pyas.
Currency notes of denominations : K 1000, K 500, K 200, K 100, K
50, K 20, K 10, K 5 and K 1.
