Yangon - Pa an - Mawlamyaing (By Car)
4 Days - Karen and Mon state

Day 01 Yangon – Pa an 270km * 7 hr drive

After breakfast, drive to Pa-an via Thaton. Pa an is capital of Karen state, 270 km by road east of Yangon. Lunch or refreshment break near Kyaikhto. Visit Bayin Nyi lime stone cave with hot spring and Kawgoon Cave decorated with 7th century artwork on the wall. The scenic view of Pha-an city is beautiful with lime stone hills, green farms and the Thanlwin river.
Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Pha-an.

 

Day 02 Pa an – Mawlamyaing

Breakfast at hotel. Pha-an sightseeing includes Kyaukkalat sacred complex, Mt Zwekabin the land mark of Karen state, Shwe Yin Myaw pagoda by the Thanlwin river, city market and bustling jetty. Lunch at the restaurant in Pha-an.Continue to Mawlamying. If time permits, visit the Khayonegu cave that enshrines numerous Buddha images, stalactites and stalagmites. In the evening, leisure walk along strand road by Thanlwin river. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Mawlamying.

 

Day 03 Mudon – Thanbyuzayat – Setse beach – Mawlamyaing

Enjoy your breakfast at hotel. First, drive to Mudon ,30 km from Mawlamyaing, visit Win Sein Tawya,the world’s largest reclining Buddha image, 182 m long and constitutes 182 compartments. Continue to Thanbyu Zayat, 35 km from Mudon, visit Second World War memorial cemetery. Continue to Set Se beach for lunch or relaxing. Late afternoon, visit Kyaikthanlan pagoda on the hilltop and view the over 150 year old Queen Seindon Monastery. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Mawlamying.


Day 04 Mawlamyaing – Mottama – Yangon 280 km * 8 hr

After breakfast, return to Yangon via Mottama. Shampoo island is a worthwhile place for sightseeing. Lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Several photo stops en-route. Arrive Yangon in the late afternoon. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel in Yangon.
