Location

Located in Taikkyi Township of Yangon Division.

Established in 1986.

Access

Yangon to Taikkyi ( 48 miles, 2 hr drive ) and from Taikkyi to Pa Lon ( 12 miles , half hour drive ). Drive to Kwan Thee Myaing, Off Road 8 miles, and Kwan Thee Myaing to Myaing Hay Won, forest road 4.5 miles.

Wildlife

Wild Elephant, Gaur, Bateng, Barking deer, Wild boar, Hare, Wild cat, Green Peafowl, Ruddy Shield Duck, Hill Myna, Blossom-headed parakeet, Pheasant, Red Jungle fowl, Quail, Dove, Duck, lesser tree duck, Butterflies, Moth, Snakes, Monitor Lizard, Grass Lizard and Chameleon are present.

Opportunities for Study and recreation

Enjoy your breakfast at hotel and drive to Taikkyi township (about 90 minutes drive).On the arrival at camp, you will take a short rest. And ride the elephant to going around the forest and how the animals live in the forest and see beauty and serenities of natural virgin forest. And you will study the nature of wildlife and at the same time can get the recreation from the city.
And then, enjoy your lunch.
Free and easy trekking in the forest and bird watching in a natural environment. And you can see the bathing of the elephants with their mahouts. You can take the photos with Myanmar Elephants.
And then, drive back to Yangon.

The elephant camp is located in Kalaw area which is focused on protecting the local ecology, elephants and traditions of the local people. It offers the opportunity for a hands-on elephant experience as you get involved in caring for these majestic creatures. It has been established to offer you to study the life of an elephant and learn about Mahouts and their Elephants in the nature. As well as to study the capture of wild elephants and protecting.

The following are the most famous program,

Program 1 : (Elephant Camp)
In the morning, go straight to the Elephant camp.
On arrival at the camp you will receive some light refreshments.
Take a short walk to the river to join the elephants at bath time
And then, you enjoy an exploration of the forest area on elephant back .
Enjoy your lunch at the main camp.
After lunch you are welcome to plant regional trees from the nursery, to help them in their forest recovery efforts.
Return to main camp and enjoy the view through valley.
Drive back to Kalaw.

Program 2 : (Elephant Camp with trekking)
In the morning, start taking you on a half-day trek through a protected forest where you will encounter elephants, their mahouts, and hill tribe peoples and to see a variety of birdlife, butterflies, orchids, teak and bamboo forests.
And enjoy your lunch at the main camp.
Then, Walk to elephant camp where you see the elephants coming through the river. Clients can feed and bath the elephants with their Mahouts .Afterwards you can ride your elephant through the forest, explore on foot, visit a waterfall, and join in the conservation by planting indigenous trees.
Walk back in the afternoon by the main road back to Kalaw.
